Being in the Old City was like nothing I've seen before; it's thousands of years old! Cobblestone roads, traditional architecture, and a sense of being in another world greeted us as we walked the streets. Its remarkable how much of the city had been preserved and how new development was integrated into the landscape.

Yad Vashem was a solemn, reflective experience. Unfortunately, ongoing construction limited the scope of our tour. On Sundays, many soldiers visit the memorial to learn about the Holocaust before returning to duty. The archaeological dig in the evening was very enjoyable (unless you were claustrophobic or afraid to get dirty).

Our last day in Jerusalem was filled with political discussions about the peace process, beginning with a comedic presentation by Neil Lazarus. The next stop at the Knesset, was disappointing because we could not pass through the gate. I had to reassure security that I only wanted a picture.

At Rabin Square, the assassination is fully documented by diagrams and explanations of what happened and when. Markers on the ground show where he was fatally shot.

Following our stop at the Diaspora Museum, I used the free time to explore Tel Aviv University. I took photographs of the city from several rooftops, and found a synagogue just around the corner.

Next to a beautiful sunset, we gathered on the beach to celebrate the end of the trip. Everyone contributed to gifts for our tour guide, Marty; group leaders, Iris and Shira; and security guard, Eido; their presence made the trip unforgettable. Thank You!
